At Stircor, our Wood Products Division is dedicated to transforming the timber industry by collaborating with timber companies and large timberland owners to monetize their residual streams effectively. Since 2000, the closure of over 117 pulp and paper mills across the United States has created significant challenges within the industry, leaving behind valuable by-products with no marketplace value. Our innovative approach aims to address this issue head-on.
By leveraging these underutilized feedstocks, we can produce high-quality biochar, renewable energy, and additional revenue streams from what was once a non-revenue generating residual. Biochar not only serves as an environmentally friendly soil amendment, enhancing soil health and carbon sequestration, but it also provides significant benefits in various industrial applications, including but not limited to steel and textiles. Furthermore, our processes contribute to the generation of renewable energy, aligning with sustainability goals and reducing reliance on fossil fuels.
